What is your standard lead time?
Standard production lead time is four weeks ex-works after order confirmation. Custom finishes, COM/COL upholstery, or bespoke alterations typically add one to three weeks. Confirmed on the quote.

Is there a minimum order quantity?
No minimum order quantity. Single pieces are accepted. Volume discounts apply: 1 to 12 units at list price, 13 units or more at 20% off. Sample units carry an additional 25% discount.

How are orders placed?
Only orders sent by email are accepted. Once confirmed in writing, the average production lead time is four weeks ex-works.

What are your payment terms?
50% on order confirmation and 50% before shipping. Wire transfer in EUR; other currencies on request.

What freight terms do you offer?
All prices are ex-works (EXW) Aveiro. Freight is arranged on request through our nominated forwarders or yours, by sea, road, or air. Crating is included; pallets are standard EUR or export heat-treated as required.

Can I request samples or visit the factory?
Sample chairs, finish swatch boxes, and fabric chips are sent on request to specifiers and procurement teams. Sample units carry an extra 25% discount. Factory visits in Aveiro are welcomed by appointment; please book at least one week in advance.

What is your warranty?
Two-year warranty against defects resulting from the manufacturing process. All deliveries must be checked by the customer at the time of unloading. Claims are accepted only if submitted within 48 hours after delivery and duly documented with photographs and the corresponding invoice number.

Where are the chairs made?
Every piece is designed and manufactured in Aveiro, Portugal, in Marques & Silva's own facilities. Three production lines (wood, metal, upholstery) operate under one roof, in business since 1980.

What certifications do you carry?
ISO 9001 quality management. PEFC-certified solid timber. CMHR (combustion-modified high-resilience) fire-retardant foam in seating. Fabric fire compliance per spec (BS 5852, EN 1021, CAL 117 available on request). Project-specific certificates issued with each delivery.

Can I specify my own fabric or leather (COM / COL)?
Yes. Customer's own material is accepted on all upholstered models. Roll width of 140 cm is assumed unless otherwise stated. Provide a swatch or supplier reference at quote stage; we confirm yardage and any technical adjustments before production.

Are catalogue dimensions and weights binding?
Dimensions, weights, and packaging shown in the catalogue are approximate. Marques & Silva reserves the right to make changes and improvements to the products or to its documentation at any time, without prior notice. Marques & Silva holds exclusive intellectual property rights over the developed models, including the respective prototypes.

Can I reuse images or text from the catalogue?

Which jurisdiction governs the sale?
Any legal matters inherent to or resulting from the sale are settled in the Court of the District of Águeda, Portugal.

How is sustainability handled in production?
PEFC-certified wood sourced from European managed forests. Solvent-free water-based finishes on standard wood specifications. CMHR foam meets European VOC limits. All metal off-cuts are recycled in-house; packaging is corrugated cardboard and EUR pallets without plastic wrap by default.
